Web Development

Our Specialities

The internet's got boring; we're on a mission to make it fun again!

Do we really need to bother writing anything here about how important a website is? Nah - didn't think so.

Websites are the bread and butter of almost all businesses, but that doesn't mean they have to be boring. We make websites with a little twist - just a little something to make your customers smile. Maybe it's an app on the site or maybe it's a cheeky animation. Let's make something new!

Bits and Pieces

A great option if you already have a site and would like it updated (maybe to add some animation or an AI feature).

Hourly pricing structure.

How you can work with us

app-dev-1.png

Full works - code

The best choice for complex websites requiring bespoke application development. These sites are code-only.

Flat fee payment structure based on site and design complexity. Note that this does not include ongoing site maintenance.

Full works - drag & drop

Drag & drop sites are great for visually stunning sites that don't require complex code.

Flat fee payment structure based on site and design complexity. Note that this does not include ongoing site maintenance.

Our process for creating your website

n1.png

Initial call

A no-obligation meeting to discuss your project’s requirements and how we are able to bring your vision to life.

n2.png

Delving into details

We'll get into the details of your website requirements. There's no one-size fits all solution, so we'll get a good understanding for the needs of your business and how we can best tailor the features and structure of the site.

We'll use this information to generate a quote.

See more info here

Design

We'll start with the design of the site, beginning with the colour palette to set the overall feel.

We're happy to work with external designers if that's your preference.

n4.png

Copy

Next we'll write the site's copy (maening the actual words on the site).

Again, we're happy to work with external people if you've got a favourite copy writer.

Code

If your site requires specific code for a bespoke app or feature, we'll write that next.

n6.png

Testing

Once all the elements have been brought together. We'll test the app internally first, then share with you and a select group of testers.

Of course we'll be testing and sharing progress with you as we go, so this should just be the final checks.

Release

And finally we're ready for sign off and to officially release the site!

This isn't the end of the road however as we hope we'll carry on being involved with the sites's continued evolution and development.

The process should be as easy and hassle free as it possibly can be.

Our work in action

Moorgate Dog Training Field

We created an advance-booking and payment system for the Moorgate Dog Training field using off-the-shelf components (why reinvent the wheel!).

Allows customers to place and manage bookings without needing to directly contact the field owners.

Zilla Music

We undertook a redesign of the site and added the Guitar Cab Cutomiser web app using bespoke code.

Customers can now design and order their ideal guitar cab directly through the site.

E-Riders

A complex website and application to handle online dressage (equestrian sport) entries, scoring and results.

Involved creating bespoke registration and account management as well as video-upload and scoring systems.

Tailoring the website to your business

We have real-world experience of creating websites using pure code as well as no-code (drag and drop) solutions like Wordpress and Wix. Below you'll see a list of the types of questions we'll ask when getting into the details for your new site.

  • Code or Drag & Drop

Building a site from scratch using pure code gives almost unlimited flexibility and scope for complex web apps, but it takes much, much longer. Drag & Drop solutions are faster, but the customisation is limited. There's some room for a hybrid solution, where we add small pieces of code to an otherwise drag & drop site, which is a pragmatic compromise. Obviously the more complex and the longer the development time, the more expensive the site fee.

  • Mobile-First

Not even going to bother asking if you want a mobile-responsive design - that goes WITHOUT saying these days! However, if you know that the vast majority of your customers are going to be accessing the site via mobile, then we will design *specifically* for mobile, with desktop as secondary. Obviously both versions of the site will look and work great!

  • E-Commerce

Will you be directly selling products or services through your site, or is it simply an advertisement for your business?

  • Animations

Do you want to add animations or custom button designs to your site (we'd emphatically say YES)? These should be used in moderation - let's not go back to the bat-sh*t crazy magic-eye backgrounds or hamburger-cursors of the early internet - but let's move away from the cookie-cutter clone templates that run rampant on today's web.

  • Existing or new website

Are you looking for a completely new site, or to update and refresh an existing site?

  • Access to content

By which we mean do you have the photos, videos and words to go on the site, or would we need to create them from scratch?

Through discussions like these, we'll get a good feel for the requirements of your site and will suggest the best solution for you, taking into account cost, features and development time.

Please note that the initial development fee does not include ongoing maintenance. Once the site has been developed and released, development is considered complete. Any site needs upkeep and maintenance, which is absolutely a service we're happy to offer.
