Equestrian & Country

Our Specialities

Horses and technology rarely meet, except at Blackdog Applications

We know horses. We know the countryside. We also know technology.

Blackdog Applications has it's roots with the Blackdog Equestrian App. Ilse, our founder, combined her expertise in software development with her experience as a Dressage rider and instructor, to created an app designed to help riders improve their position and performance.

It's no surprise that we've made Equestrian apps something of a specialty!

Expert Knowledge

We speak the same language. You won't have to explain what a fetlock is or that a dog-leg is actually a jump line, not part of a dog's anatomy.

We also know what it's like to use an app in the real-world of the equestrian - by which we mean in the dark, in the rain and wearing gloves.

In other words, you can spend all your time and focus on getting the app itself right and not worrying about sounding bat-sh*t crazy like we inevitably do when we try and explain horses to non-horse people!

Proven Track Record

And if that isn't enough, we've got a proven track record of success in the equestrian app market. At one point, we had three apps in the Top 10 of the paid sports category on the App Store which made us super proud, both of us and of our client's hard work and vision.

We've also had clients be nominated for the Equestrian Business Award's "Equestrian Tech of the Year" for the last two years running! Massive well done to Nina at Polework Patterns (finalist 2023) and Susie at E-Riders (finalist 2024). The nominations are down to your hard work and we're glad to be part of your journey.

So, if you want your app to be in the top 10 on the App Store and for your business's name to be appearing in the Equestrian Business Award's hall of fame, give us a shout.

If you have any questions (please, please, please feel free to ask questions, even if you think they may be silly, they probably aren't!) don't hesitate to get in touch and we can arrange a confidential, no-obligation chat to discuss your ideas.
